Try Stamping on Tuesday!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means---only three more days of school for my son!!!!!!! Oh and the Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge too!  Here is my sample for this week --  I got a bit silly with the fish from the By the Tide set....

What do you think?  A fishy anniversary card???  Maybe I am stretching it a bit, but hey, maybe not! What do you think?  Actually I know what you may be thinking--there is only one fish in that set and it faces only one way--how did she get two fish looking at each other!  Well let me tell you a little secret.....If you stamp you image on one of our fabulous clear blocks and then use that to stamp the image on your paper you will get the reverse image!  So easy--you have to be sure to keep a steady hand when stamping on the block and then be sure it all transfers to the card stock--I do this by laying the block on the work space--stamping the fish on it, then leaving the block were it is and putting the card stock on top of it.  Then I can rub the image a bit to be sure all parts are stamping on there--then very carefully lift the card stock up and there you have it--a mirror image!  Nice huh?!

Stamps:  By the Tide, Teeny Tiny Wishes, water droplet stamp from the 1st paper pumpkin kit
Paper: Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler
Other: 1" circle punch, chevron embossing folder, three heart punch, blender pen,

Want six more ideas with these stamps?  Purchase my By the Tide tutorial for only $2.50 and you will get step by step directions for making six more cards with these same sets and another technique with you blocks too!

I am so excited there are only three more half days before the kids are done for summer!  I love summer--don't you?  The only bad thing about summer is that I NEVER want to be in the house--not even to stamp so I try to get lots done on any rainy days, lol!

Welcome to another week of my sketch challenge--we are on week 268 and I know you are going to love this weeks sketch--so here it is...

And here is my sample..I combined it with the Latenightstamper's new challenge which is Party Time.  Stuff for parties--well how about an invite to get us started.

So in honor of this I thought I would make a mini tutorial for you showcasing the Giggle Greetings stamp set.  This is the stamp set that I will be featuring in the Summer Collection mentioned above.

***this is just a mini tutorial and not the full step by step tutorials that will be included in the collection***

I made a cute little box set of 4 by 4 cards using each of the images from the set.
All of the cards are basically the same except for the accent color and image.
And they all have matching envelopes too!

Here are the four cards in the box...

Each card has a base made from a 8" by 4" piece of Island Indigo card stock folded in half to create a
4" by 4" card.  They all have a layer of DP from the Quarterfancy Specialty Designer Paper that is a 3 3/4" square.  The middle accent color strip is 1" by 3 3/4".  (Two strips are Daffodil Delight, one is Smoky Slate and the last one is Baked Brown Sugar.)  The next element on the card from bottom to top is a piece of Island Indigo card stock that is 2 1/2" by 3 inches.   Next is the accent color square this is 2 1/8" and finally the focal image square that is 2".  The sentiments are stamped on scraps of Whisper White card stock and added to the bottom of the Island Indigo piece . All of the images are colored in with markers or ink pads with a blender pen.  Three of the cards have the second half of the saying from the set on the inside.
(I cut my images and sentiments apart to make them easier to use separately)

The box was very basic.  I have created this template for you to follow.  I added a strip of DP to the front of the box just to bring it all together.  Click on the image below to see the full size template and read the cutting/scoring directions.

And finally I made matching envelopes by trimming down our regular envelopes and adding a matching piece of Designer Series Paper to them.  I made a tutorial on how to do this a few years ago--see below
you will love this simple way to make 4.25" envelopes

I hope you enjoyed the sample I shared today!
Now go enjoy your Father's Day--there must be some one in your lives that you can celebrate with--right?

Flashback Friday!

This week's set is called Darling Dragon's--and I after doing this card I can honestly say I can not wait to get my in color markers, lol.  I colored the image with a blender pen and ink pads and I am not as pleased as I could be, lol.  But none the less, it is a "darling" card....

The dragons in this set are so cute!  I used the new Baked Brown Sugar to color him and I combined the image with the new Soho Subway Designer Paper Pack.  Love these colors.

Here is the stamp set...

Supplies used:
Stamps: Darling Dragons
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Soho Subway DP
Ink: Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo
Other: Blender pen, word window punch, 1" circle punch

Want to see more ideas with older sets? Check out what Nicole did for the challenge this week--remember that is who thought of this great Flashback Friday challenge to begin with--I just hopped on it with her!

Wildflower Meadow

I have had mixed emotions with this set.  Funny because I have already used it quite a bit in quite a few different ways.  But the jury is still out, lol.   Here is one of the cards I did at one of my recent classes using only part of the image and coloring with markers.

I used Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizazz along with Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the Round Array stamp set.

Stamps: Round Array, Wildflower Meadow
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry, DP
Other: markers, wildflower embossing folder

Hope you week is going smoothly!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Try Stamping On Tuesday!

Come on over and play along with us on Try Stamping On Tuesday--this week we have another fun sketch for you to try.  Here is my sample....

I used the Washi Tape for the side elements.  Does anyone else have a hard time using this--funny it is one of those embellishments that I buy and then don't want to use??? Wonder why.  I like it on this card though, I was looking for a more "softer" feel for a female graduation card??

Stamps: Pure Gumption
Paper: Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, DP
Ink: Basic Black
other: Washi Tape, Rhinestones, Markers

Here is this week's sketch....

By the Tide Masculine Card Set Tutorial

I know it has been a while but I have a brand new tutorial for you and it is only $2.50 as usual!  As I talked with a bunch of you who have been buying my tutorials many of you said you would love to just have card sets with a bunch of cards using one stamp set and a few papers and that you did not really care as much about the box or container to keep them in.  So that is what this one is!  (I will still be doing the other type too).  So I hope you will give it a try.

The tutorial contains step by step directions for six cards using the fabulous By the Tide stamp set!  They are all of a masculine nature but can be used for anyone!  You will get cutting sizes and step by step directions.

Flashback Friday!

We are having lots of rain around my neck of the woods and I am dreamy for nice warm steamy weather to spend around the pool--hence my flashback card for today.....

The year is 2005 and the set is called Balmy Breezes.  Such a fun and serene set.  I always loved it.  I believe this may be the first time I have used the elephant stamp from it though.  I combined it with the new Baked Brown Sugar color for a tone on tone card--no sentiment yet as I am not sure what I will use it for--it does fit this week's latenightstamper's challenge of masculine cards though!

Hope you have a great day today!  TGIF!!!!
